Located just above our new FBO will be the home of WACO Kitchen - a unique dining experience overlooking the airport runway. Aerospace Engineer

The engineering team at WACO Aircraft Corporation is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of an Aerospace Engineer to design and build small airplanes.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in stress calculations, load distributions, free body diagrams, and development of margins of safety.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in analyzing aerodynamics, controls, propulsion and performance.

  • Ability to perform Finite Element Analysis.

  • Knowledge required to plan, conduct, coordinate, and/or develop test requirements.

  • Strong research skills and an ability to perform trade studies.

  • Experience reading and creating engineering technical drawings.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SolidWorks.

  • Experience with aircraft structures desired.

Centennial Aircraft Services

Aircraft Technician 

 

Centennial is an expanding our 145 Certified Repair station with Avionics and Aircraft Repair services. WACO Aircraft/Centennial is seeking a motivated and experienced Aircraft Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for individuals with any of the following experience:  Turbine, composite, tube and fabric. 

 

As an Aircraft Technician your responsibilities would include the following: 

  • Perform all manner of maintenance on multiple types of Certificated Aircraft in accordance with company policy, manufacturer’s manuals and Federal Aviation Regulations.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair airframe and powerplant components and systems

  • Document work completed per company procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations

  • Perform minor maintenance on ground support equipment as needed

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

  • Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity.

  • Other duties as may be deemed necessary.

 

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required

  • Three years related airframe maintenance experience required

 

General Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Assembly Specialist

 

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products

  • Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw, sander and drill gun.

  • Maintain inventory of product in workstations

  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards

  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified

  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes

  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

The engineering team at WACO Aircraft Corporation is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of a CAD Engineer with our Votec acrobatic aircraft project.

 

Position Qualifications:

 

  • Experience reading and creating engineering technical drawings.

    • Familiar with SolidWorks 3D modeling and assembly features including surfaces and mold design.

Composites Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete inspection of procured or fabricated parts and assemblies

  • Coordinate with Engineering in the determination and development of materials, processes, specifications, and related documents to be used in the fabrication, rework and repair.

  • Lay out, assemble, pre-fits and bond a variety of composites or laminate fabrications, parts, skins or equipment.

  • Review and follow specifications per print to determine parts to be bonded as well as the required pressure and temperature.

  • Properly operate the water jet machine by placing proper material on table as defined by prints, create optimal cut path that saves as much material as possible, cut parts.

  • Ensure all settings are correct daily/weekly

  • Maintain the pump and filters on the water jet

 

Education:

  • Associate Degree in relevant field is preferred

Paint Technician

 

Work includes things like laying out striping, mixing, and spraying paint, sanding, taping, masking, priming, cleaning, and preparing parts and aircraft surfaces. Experience in aircraft or auto body painting is required, and an interest in aviation is a plus.

 

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Paint certification preferred (not required).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft or auto body painting

 

General Requirements:

  • Must adhere to company policies. 

  • Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining work area per company’s 6S standards. 

  • A good eye for color and detail

  • Ability to paint different types of materials (composite, fabric, and sheet metal).

  • Ability to identify and correct imperfections in paint according to the company’s quality standard.

Process Engineer

WACO is seeking a motivated entry-level Process Engineer to join our growing team.  As a Process Engineer at WACO you will be responsible for developing the processes, procedures, tooling and equipment for our new airframes in development as well as improvements to our existing production lines. 

 

As WACO Aircraft is a small company with a diverse range of manufacturing processes, candidates are expected to be flexible and comfortable working on multiple assignments with varying subject matter.  This includes creating a prototype all the way from the design stage to physically building the hardware and systems.  The ideal candidate would have a broad range of experiences with the following experience preferred:

  • Hands-on experience designing and fabricating hardware

  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling and CAD

  • Team player, self-motivated and a quick learner

WACO Aircraft

Welder

 

Experienced TIG welder who can weld aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. Familiarity with metal working shop tools is a must, as well as blueprint reading, and measuring equipment.

The successful candidate for this position will have:

  • Previous experience with TIG welding

  • Certification of welding from apprenticeship, college or technical school

  • A good eye for detail, and pride in craftsmanship

  • A great attitude, with a team player mentality

  • A solid work history with proven reliability

 

You will be required to provide your own welding helmet and other basic tools; any specialty tools will be supplied. A welding test will be conducted before hire.
